Northwood Space has named Zak Kirstein as chief revenue officer as the startups works to scale after its recent $100 million funding raise.

Kirstein has been with Northwood for just over two years and served as the company’s head of growth. He is credited with playing a key role in the company’s growth trajectory including the $100 million capital raise and $49.8 million contract from the U.S. Space Force to support the Satellite Control Network (SCN).

Kirstein was previously a Palantir executive focused on space and special programs, head of strategy for Loft Federal, the government business of Loft Orbital.

“As CRO, the focus will remain unchanged: build the partnerships and operating rhythm that turn today’s momentum into durable, repeatable outcomes for customers, especially as the missions get more critical and the bar keeps rising,” Kirstein said in a LinkedIn post.

Northwood Space is focused on satellite ground infrastructure and is building a vertically integrated, end-to-end ground service. The company has deployed a multi-beam phased array system called Portal, as well as a proprietary technology stack including narrowband and wideband modem products and a networking backbone.
